Looking for a Apollo.io alternative?
Apollo is a 200M+ contact database with sequences bolted on. find-customer is a research tool that reads each company's pages against your ICP and returns a short, sourced list with no contacts.
Disclosure: we make find-customer · prices checked 2026-09-14 · Apollo.io site
You need email addresses and phone numbers at volume, you run sequences from the same tool, and you're fine re-verifying data before you send.
You'd rather have 10–25 companies you can prove fit, with a quote and a URL behind every claim, than 4,000 rows to clean, and you'll handle outreach yourself.
Side by side
| Apollo.io | find-customer | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | B2B contact and company database with sales engagement | AI account research from your website to a sourced shortlist |
| Input | Filters, ICP builder, lookalike accounts | Your website URL plus one optional sentence of context |
| Discovery | Proprietary database (~200M contacts) | Live search plus signal sources (ATS boards, directories, press), then page-by-page reading |
| ICP inferred from your site | Partial (ICP builder is manual; lookalikes from seed accounts) | Yes, from services, case studies and logos; you confirm before research |
| Per-company reasoning | Light AI summaries (AI Research, 1 credit per run) | Why they fit, reason to reach out now, likely buyer, per company |
| Evidence with source URL | Weak | Every claim quotes a page we read; gaps say Not found |
| Contacts | Core feature | A named buyer per company on request; emails labelled verified or unverified |
| Output size | Thousands of rows | 8–25 companies |
| Pricing | Free tier; Basic $49/user/mo; Pro $79/user/mo | Free run (8 companies); $39 one-off list of 25; $49/mo for 4 runs |
| Free tier | Yes | Yes, no card |
What Apollo does better
- Contact data. If you need emails and direct dials, Apollo has them and we don't, by design.
- Sequences and dialer in the same tool, so list-to-outreach is one workflow.
- Scale. 200M+ contacts and 73M+ companies is a different universe from a 25-company shortlist.
- Technographics and job-posting filters at database scale, without waiting for a crawl.
What we do differently
- We read the company's actual pages. Apollo's rows come from a database; ours come from the About page, the careers page, the news page, quoted.
- Every claim links to its source, and if we couldn't verify something the card says Not found instead of filling the gap.
- The ICP is inferred from your own site and shown to you before any research runs, so you're not building filters from scratch.
- Deterministic scoring you can read: four sub-scores, weights published, no black-box fit number.
The documented weakness
Data accuracy is the most common complaint theme in Apollo's G2 reviews, and practitioners report 32–38% bounce rates on 'verified' exports.

Questions people ask
- Is find-customer a replacement for Apollo?
- Only for the account-selection part. If you use Apollo mainly to decide which companies to go after, yes. If you use it for contacts and sequences, keep Apollo and use our shortlist to decide who goes into it.
- Can I export the shortlist into Apollo?
- Yes. Paid runs export a CSV with the company, domain, scores, reason and sources, which you can import as accounts.
- Why don't you provide contacts?
- Because the company fit is the hard, valuable part and contact data is where accuracy problems and compliance risk live. This version is company-level by design.
